DISCnet Programme
The majority of the PhD programme will involve the carrying out of original research, leading to specialised knowledge and skills. Research projects mainly relate to particle physics and astronomy, but there are other big data projects on a range of subjects.
The primary taught components are residential schools covering professional skills and data specific training (see below). Students will also be able to access a range of training through GRADnet.
Real-world experience will be gained from industry placements and there will be other opportunities to engage with industry.
