Testing supersymmetry with simulated experiments

Adam Forster's PHD is a phenomenological study of different theories of supersymmetry and symmetry breaking. These are analysed for how well they hold up to collider testing, simulations, and data on various cosmological concepts such as inflation and dark matter.

"For my DISCnet placement, I worked with an environmental start-up called C Free. The intention was to build software that could automatically calculate the carbon footprint of the user, including the backend and the user-interface. We wanted to use data rendered by users to understand more about how people emit carbon into the atmosphere. "

"I learnt a great deal from the placement in terms of developing my programming skills as well as learning a huge amount about how businesses operate. It was an incredibly dynamic environment which lead to a really interesting experience with a heavy emphasis on problem-solving and teamwork."

"After my placement, I was offered to continue working with C Free after my PhD; an offer I gratefully accepted."

Below is a link to the C Free website, co-founded by Adam Forster. The company is dedicated to providing accurate measurement's of company's carbon emissions, and giving expert recommendations on how to decrease them - working towards "a world where decarbonisation is a thing of the past", in their words.
